4-star EDGE Blake Purchase commits to Oregon
Englewood (Colo.) Cherry Creek four-star EDGE Blake Purchase has committed to Oregon. The 6-foot-2.5, 240-pound prospect chose the Ducks over Colorado, Iowa State, Notre Dame and Washington.
Purchase is the No. 298 overall prospect and No. 35 EDGE in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Colorado.
Oregon received an official visit from Purchase on June 24. He also took officials to California, Iowa State and Washington that month.
Earlier this summer, Purchase praised Oregon in a conversation with On3’s Justin Hopkins.

“(Defensive coordinator Tosh) Lupoi and (head coach Dan) Lanning are recruiting me really hard too,” he told Hopkins in June. “I just talked to them earlier today. Oregon is always a top school out West and I liked what I saw at the Spring game. It’s nice having a defensive-minded head coach that knows my position really well.”
The Ducks’ 2023 recruiting class now has 18 commitments. Purchase is Oregon’s second commitment in the last three days along with Chandler (Ariz.) four-star defensive lineman A’mauri Washington. Additionally, he is the Ducks’ second EDGE commit alongside Eugene (Ore.) Sheldon three-star Teitum Tuioti.

Purchase has an On3 NIL Valuation of $14.7K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
