On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power had high praise for the 6-foot-5.5, 265 pound prospect.
“Caleb Lomu now ranks as the top offensive lineman out West in the 2023 cycle,” Power wrote. “It’s well-earned, too. Lomu has put in work this off-season on the heels of a good junior year at Gilbert (Ariz.) Highland. Lomu is one of the more natural movers among top offensive linemen nationally. He checks in at over 6-foot-5 and around 265 pounds with a wing-span close to 6-foot-10 and recently ripped off a shuttle time in the 4.5 second range. That athleticism carries over to the field, where he excels at blocking at the second level. We’ve also seen Lomu show some feisty and physical tendencies along with a strong anchor despite being lighter than many of his peers.”
Lomu has an On3 NIL Valuation of $9K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Caleb Lomu On3 Scouting Summary
The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Caleb Lomu:
“Quick offensive lineman with room for growth who looks to be one of the more agile prospects at the position in the 2023 cycle. Measured over 6-foot-5 and around 265 pounds with wing-span around 6-foot-9. A flexible athlete and outstanding mover. Excels as a second level blocker, using his high-end foot quickness to navigate in space. Shows a strong punch with pop in his hands. Turned in a fantastic showing at Under Armour’s Los Angeles camp prior to his senior season. Flashed a smooth pass set and showed the ability to anchor against much heavier defensive linemen. Turned in one of the best shuttle times of any offensive lineman nationally (4.5 second range). Could end up at offensive tackle or sliding inside at the next level. Length is adequate but not elite for the position. Will need to continue adding mass once in a strength and conditioning program, but already shows signs of good functional strength.”
