Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Oakland running back Jordan James has flipped his commitment to Oregon from Georgia, he announced Wednesday on National Signing Day.

James is the No. 238 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 18 running back and the No. 6 senior prospect in the state of Tennessee.

The 5-foot-10, 205-pounder chose the Bulldogs back in March and remained committed to them throughout the summer and fall. But as the Early Signing Period rolled around, James opted not to sign with Georgia.

He received renewed interest from both Oregon and Florida’s new coaching staffs and set up visits with them during the final two weekends of January. He visited the Ducks on Jan. 21, and then ultimately canceled his trip to Florida after his trip to Eugene.

Prior to his commitment, the Ducks didn’t have a single running back in the 2022 class after a slew of decommitments following Mario Cristobal’s departure. He becomes the 13th pledge in Oregon’s 2022 class.
