4-star SG Jamari Phillips, former Arizona signee, sets official visit to Oregon
Four-star shooting guard Jamari Phillips, a former Arizona signee, tells On3 he will take an official visit to Oregon beginning Wednesday, June 5th.
The 6-foot-4 senior out of Dream City Christian (AZ) originally committed to Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats in December of 2022 and signed with them in November of 2023. However, with Arizona star guard Caleb Love announcing he would return to Tucson, Phillips decided to reopen his recruitment.
Phillips provided the following statement to On3 regarding his decision to decommit from Arizona:
“First and foremost, I would like to thank God, my family and my incredible support system for lifting me up throughout me throughout my recruitment journey so far. For the past few years, I have truly been excited to begin my collegiate career in Tuscon in front of the Wildcat fans.
Since committing to play for the University of Arizona my sophomore year when I was just 16-years-old, Coach Lloyd, the entire coaching staff and the Wildcat fans have been great to my family and I. Thank you for your support and belief in me. I will always cherish the University of Arizona, my family and I have decided that at this time it is best to reopen my recruitment.
