5-star WR, Oregon commit Jurrion Dickey not transferring to Mater Dei

San Jose (Calif.) five-star wide receiver and Oregon commit Jurrion Dickey announced Thursday that he will not be transferring to Mater Dei, but has enrolled at another school. He shared the news over social media.

A report on July 22 revealed that Dickey planned to transfer to Mater Dei from Valley Christian. It is unknown whether Dickey is returning to Valley Christian.

The 6-foot-2.5, 210 pound wideout is the No. 23 overall prospect and No. 4 wide receiver in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also listed as the No. 4 player in California.

On3’s rankings have Dickey even higher. They rate him as the No. 15 overall prospect and the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2023 On300.

Dickey, who has been committed to Oregon since May 2, has an On3 NIL Valuation of $223K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

“Physical, productive receiver with a well-rounded skill set. Owns a thick, filled out build, checking in at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds prior to his junior season. Also has long arms with a 6-foot-6 wing-span, which manifests in a large catch radius. Strong in every facet. Bullies wide receivers off the line and at the top of his routes. Attacks the ball at the catch point and shows strong, reliable hands. Tough to bring down after the catch. Has good play speed and clocked a sub-4.6 second 40-yard dash prior to his junior season. Highly productive as a junior against some of the best competition in Northern California with 1,304 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns. Also plays defense. Shines in competitive situations. Was the top receiver at The Opening Finals prior to his junior season. Younger for the class and won’t turn 18 years old until he’s enrolled in college.”
