Bo Nix ponders significance of media attention, apologies from doubters
After three seasons as the starting quarterback at Auburn, Bo Nix needed a fresh start. He was struggling with his consistency and was under intense scrutiny. So, he left for Oregon to play for first-year head coach Dan Lanning. After a difficult game against Georgia to start the season, Nix has taken off and become a legitimate Heisman-Trophy contender for the Ducks.
While speaking to the media, Bo Nix was asked what it has been like to have national writers publishing apologies for doubting Nix during his time at Auburn.
“This is the thing about college football,” Bo Nix said. “Sometimes, guys, obviously, you don’t really get to see what they can do until they can do until a little bit later.”

“Some guys start a little sooner. Some guys go a little later. But, I think that it’s a tough question because I am in such a good position to where it’s hard to–I mean, it’s hard to kind of say that, like, I don’t know. It’s tough that stuff,” Bo Nix smiled.
“I don’t really want to comment a whole lot about it because that’s how you get in trouble.”
It’s great to see a player like Bo Nix find a home in Oregon, where he has been able to live up to his potential. He clearly doesn’t want to go after anyone who was critical of him during his time at Auburn, but at the same time, it’s also obvious that he is incredibly happy and satisfied with how things are going for him now.

Oregon head coach Dan Lanning has been rumored for the Auburn job
Ever since the Auburn job opened, there have been numerous coaches suggested and rumored for the job. A bit ironically, that includes Oregon head coach Dan Lanning. However, Lanning himself has tried to put water on the fire of those rumors.
“The grass is not always greener,” Dan Lanning said. “The grass is damn green in Eugene. I want to be here in Eugene for as long as Eugene will have me.”
