While his fellow Heisman finalists might’ve made some bigger statements with their outfits for the evening, Oregon quarterback Bo Nix kept it simple. Gray suit, green tie, brown shoes, repping the Ducks and letting his play do the talking.

The tie clip and pocket square — matching with the tie — add a few pops to the overall get up. And the shoes, a distressed brown leather with buckles, are a classy edition.

Nix got to show off the ensemble on the red carpet ahead of the Heisman ceremony.

And taking home the Heisman on Saturday night, something Nix has a real chance to do, would be massively meaningful to Nix.

The Ducks signal caller had the best season of his career but ultimately fell short of the Pac-12 title and College Football Playoff. Oregon lost to Washington twice this season.

However, Nix still has a shot and it would mean the world to him to win the award. Win or lose though, his head will be high.

“It would mean, I think so much more than I can even probably explain,” Nix said at Heisman Weekend in New York. “It’s always been a goal. And like I said, I think the best advice or one of the best (pieces of) advice (is), I have a guy who was early in my career when going over goals and you know, I mentioned the Heisman trophy.

“And I think that that is some of the best advice because it’s out of my control, it’s not something that I can necessarily measure myself. And when you put it in somebody else’s hands … it’s not something that necessarily you can do for yourself or you can work for. So I think goals and dreams can be it’s best if they’re measured.”

Nix finished the year with 4,145 yards, 40 touchdowns, three interceptions, a 77.2% completion percentage, 228 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.

“You know, (you measure) with yourself and with your work ethic and with your drive and with everything that you can do,” Nix said. “So like I think that’s one of the most important things that I just keep reminding myself is just to be here is a blessing.

“And, you know, I don’t know what’s going to happen but it would mean a lot to win because you just join, I think, such a great group and I think just to receive that honor, a high accolade and it’s just a really awesome award.”
