Bo Nix says Drake Maye is 'a really good player'
The Holiday Bowl between Oregon and North Carolina is one of the most highly anticipated bowl games of the season. That’s because it features a marquee quarterback matchup between Bo Nix and Drake Maye, both of whom are thought to be Heisman contenders next season.
While speaking to the media, Bo Nix praised Drake Maye for being an excellent player.
“He’s a really good player,” Bo Nix said. “I think he moves around a lot better than people expect. He’s a very athletic guy.”
This season, Drake Maye has thrown for 4,115 yards on the season to go with 35 touchdown passes. On the ground, 653 yards and another seven touchdowns. Out of those categories, Nix only has more touchdown runs than Maye.
“Obviously, he’s got a big arm and he’s going to make a lot of really good throws. He just can kind of do it all. That’s what makes him so versatile and so good.”
The Holiday Bowl will be played on Wednesday, December 28th at 8 PM.

Drake Maye denied rumors that he was going to transfer
There were rumors swirling, due to Mack Brown and Pat Narduzzi, that Drake Maye was being offered millions of dollars to transfer. However, Maye says those rumors weren’t really reality.
“Those rumors weren’t really reality,” Drake Maye said.
“Pitt’s coach ended up putting that out there. I don’t know what that was about. You have to enter the transfer portal to talk to these schools and hear these offers. There was nothing, to me or my family, directly offered from any of these other schools. Nothing was said or offered to the Mayes.”
