Top-25 SG Cam Scott previews Oregon visit, two more potential visits
Four-star shooting guard Cam Scott has established himself as one of the top backcourt players in the class of 2024. The 6-foot-5 junior out of Lexington (S.C.) High is not new to the recruiting process, as he’s already officially visited the likes of South Carolina, Auburn, and Texas. However, there is a new school in the mix — Oregon. The Ducks are hosting him on campus for an official visit this weekend and Scott previewed that upcoming trip with On3.
“I know they have a lot of connections with Nike,” he says. “A lot of player development, skill development, working on your body. Nutritional things that not a lot of people have so they have a lot of resources that I could use and that I could see being a big possibility of my future.”
Being recruited by Oregon is special for Scott.
“I honestly feel great about (Oregon),” he says. “I’ve been an Oregon football fan since I was a little kid. It’s kind of like a dream come true. So just going up there to see what the basketball team is like, it’s very interesting to me.”
Along with the Ducks, Scott says Alabama, Texas, South Carolina, Georgetown, and Auburn remain involved. USC is the latest school to offer. He also might not be done with visits, as he’s contemplating trips to Alabama and USC.

Scott isn’t in too big of a rush to make a decision. He doesn’t have an exact timeline but he knows it’ll come after Peach Jam (concludes in July) and before the start of his high school basketball season (beginning in November).
Scott Scouting Report
“Cam Scott is a lengthy wing prospect with a lot of pop. The natural tools are very impressive all the way around. Scott has a mature game, plays within the flow of the offense, rarely forces things. The jump shot release can be cleaned up a little, but the pull-up is smooth. Since the summer, Scott has developed his footwork and handle in the half-court, creating space to elevate into his jumper. Scott can take over a game carry his team. Would like to see him develop the comfort to take a more aggressive, alpha role on his teams. He is very efficient in his game, his ability to score with a less is more approach is mature. Strength will come, and he is tracking as one of the top players in the 2024 class.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
Scott is the No. 21 overall prospect and No. 4 shooting guard in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in South Carolina.
