Dan Lanning analyzes Bo Nix's performance vs. Washington
The Oregon Ducks came up just short on Saturday in a Top-10 Pac-12 matchup against the Washington Huskies. In the end, Washington was able to overcome a late-game deficit, winning at home 36-33.
While the outcome of the game was not what Oregon and head coach Dan Lanning envisioned, it was still a hard-fought and impressive game by the team. After the weekend, on Monday, the Ducks head man shared some thoughts on how his star quarterback, Bo Nix, performed in the Top-10 matchup.
“Bo played a really impressive game, in my opinion,” said Lanning. “Bo lead, was calm and composed, didn’t feel like he had to go create plays on his own, he was able to operate within the system, and I thought he did a really great job throughout the game on Saturday.
“I know there’s moments that Bo wants back; we certainly got some things. ‘Hey Bo, this should have looked different.’ And he appreciates that because he wants to be coached. But yeah, I thought Bo did some really good things for us on Saturday and will continue to do them this year.”
Despite the loss, Oregon still remains in the top 10, ranked at No. 9 in the AP poll. While a loss against Washington does hurt their standing, the Ducks are still firmly in the Pac-12 title and College Football Playoff race. But in order for them to remain in the race, Lanning’s trust in Nix must be validated as the Super senior quarterback continues to put together an impressive 2023 campaign.

Lanning shares excitement to return to home crowd
Oregon suffered their first loss of the season last weekend in heartbreaking fashion, falling to Washington on the road in 36-33 down to the wire loss that represented one of the best games of the college football season.
The Ducks dropped just one spot in the AP Top 25 Poll following their loss, now ranked the No. 9 team in the county ahead of their matchup against Washington State this Saturday.
This weekend will be homecoming in Eugene, as alumni will populate the town and Autzen Stadium on Saturday to watch the Ducks take on the Cougars in a high-stakes Pac-12 matchup. And ahead of the game, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning spoke about his excitement to be back in front of a home crowd as his team looks to bounce back from their previous loss.
“Sold out game, I know our crowd will be amazing as always, they always bring it and I think like I said, being able to have this game in Autzen is gonna be a lot of fun,” Lanning said.
