Following Oregon‘s 62-56 loss to Washington State on Saturday, men’s basketball head coach Dana Altman had plenty to be upset with with his team’s performance. However, arguably the biggest letdown on the night for the Ducks was their free throw shooting.
Following Oregon’s home loss to Washington State, Altman addressed his team’s poor performance from the charity stripe.
“Yeah, the free throws, in a tight game like that, when you’re not shooting the ball; we went eight for 14 or two front ends you go eight for 16, that kills ya,” said Altman. “They didn’t shoot them great, 15 of 22, but they got the big rebound on the one they missed late. So we didn’t give ourselves an opportunity, made a lot of mistakes, and just simply didn’t get it done.”
Oregon was credited with finishing the night going 8-14 from the charity stripe. However, as Altman pointed out, two of their misses came on one-and-one opportunities, essentially making those two 0-2 trips to the free-throw line.
The loss drops Oregon down to 16-8 on the season and 8-5 in conference play. The Ducks still have a strong chance of qualifying for this year’s NCAA men’s championship tournament in March. However, if they want to cement their spot in the tournament, they can ill afford nights in which they shoot essentially 50 percent from the free throw line, especially in their home arena.
Former Oregon star Bol Bol re-selling designer clothes online
Former Oregon star Bol Bol has left fans shaking their heads over the years about what he can do in the open floor on a basketball court. The 7-foot-3 center can simply do some things on the court than many seven footers cannot. He’s bounced around to a number of teams in his NBA career thus far.
He’s only logging 8.9 minutes per game this year with the Phoenix Suns and it appears the Sudanese star might be getting his feet wet in a side hustle to earn some extra cash on the side. Bol Bol is re-selling his designer clothes online.
