Dana Altman shares key to Oregon's efficient offense
Oregon Ducks head coach Dana Altman shared the key to Oregon’s efficient offense following the Ducks’ win over California Baptist.
It was a 76-55 win for the Ducks. That was the most points that California Baptist had given up all season long. For the Ducks, it was another excellent performance.
“Well, we moved the ball at will, at times,” Dana Altman said. “And we took some quick shots at times off a set defense, faders, and off balance. Had some bad turnovers, but when we worked the ball and got some good looks our guys really got balanced up.”
It was a close game at the half, but Oregon was able to pull away in the second half of the game. As Altman explained, that came down to the Ducks doing the little things better in the second half.
“You go 9 for 18. We shot free throws good, 13 of 15. That was a big difference in the first half. They were 9 for 13 and we were 2 for 3. They were a plus 7 at the line and we got that evened out in the second half. And the rebounding, we were down at half and out-rebounded them in the second half, but when the ball is moving we’ve got four guards out there. We should be pretty efficient, you know?”
It wasn’t all good on the offensive side of the ball for Oregon, though, as Dana Altman also warned that the Ducks had far too many turnovers in the game.
“Little concerned about 14 turnovers there. Just some really bad ones that we’ve got to get straightened out,” Altman said.

“But a lot of positives.”
Dana Altman and Oregon will look to build on that offensive performance and correct some mistakes on Sunday. That’s when the Ducks will take on the Syracuse Orange.
Momentum growing for Big Ten to not include all 18 teams in league basketball tournament
After this season, four new programs will join the Big Ten. With that, there are questions about how to handle things like scheduling and the Big Ten basketball tournament.
Now, according to a recent report, there is growing momentum to not include all 18 Big Ten teams in the conference’s tournament.
“Momentum is growing for the Big Ten to only have 14 or 15 teams participate in the Big Ten Tournament when the league expands to 18 teams during the 2024-25 season, multiple sources told College Hoops Today,” Jon Rothstein said. “There is no timetable on an official announcement. Discussions have been ongoing with conference administrators over the past couple of weeks.”
