Oregon lands commitment from explosive On300 RB Dierre Hill
Oregon landed a commitment on Friday from Belleville (Ill.) Althoff Catholic On300 running back Dierre Hill who chose to play his college football in Eugene over the likes of Illinois, Missouri and Ole Miss.
The 6-foot, 185-pound Hill gives the Ducks a dynamic back that can do it all offensively.
The reigning Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year is dangerous between the tackles, makes things happen on the perimeter, can catch the football, is a physical blocker and he’s someone the Ducks will be able to utilize in the return game as well.
Hill becomes commit No. 7 in the 2025 cycle for head coach Dan Lanning and his staff as the Big Ten program pursues a second-straight top five recruiting class.
Oregon’s trajectory excites Hill
The four-star Hill visited Eugene twice this calendar year including a junior day and then returning for the spring game in April.

“What excites me about my opportunity is that I could be somewhere special there as they show me and tell!” Hill said in the past.
“The facility was great and everything was literally nice! I got to experience something amazing.”
The stats on Hill
The On3 Industry tabs Hill as the nation’s No. 6 athlete and No. 140 prospect overall. As a junior he rushed for 1,788 yards and 23 touchdowns averaging 13.6 yards per carry. He also returned two kickoffs for scores, caught a touchdown pass and threw for a TD. Defensively, Hill registered 32 tackles and three interceptions, returning two for touchdowns.
Ra’Shaad Samples is led the charge in recruiting Hill to Eugene, taking the baton from former running backs coach Carlos Locklyn who helped put Oregon in great position.
Other offers for Hill included Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Georgia and Nebraska.
