Evan Williams exits Arizona State game in first quarter with injury
Oregon safety Evan Williams left the Arizona State game in the first quarter on Saturday afternoon with an injury. He ended up leaving the field with an injury and headed back to the locker room with trainers, according to James Crepea of The Oregonian. As of this time, there is no information as to what his injury status is. That will be updated as soon as information becomes available.
He emerged from the locker room and is back on the Ducks’ sideline, per Crepea. He eventually returned to the game in the second quarter, according to multiple reports. Once the Ducks came out for the second half, Williams was not on the field to start the half. So, he was in and out of the lineup on Saturday evening.
Through 10 games played, Williams was one of Oregon’s most dominant defenders. He racked up 65 tackles (leading the team), 4.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and one pass breakup.
In the Ducks’ Nov. 11th matchup against the USC Trojans, Williams had a sack and a fumble recovery.
Khyree Jackson also left the game early in the second half. He was seen on the sidelines with his helmet off. He was done for the evening.
Williams was named second-team All Mountain West his junior year with Fresno State. He racked up 66 tackles, six tackles for loss, a sack, four pass breakups, and a blocked punt. His sophomore year, he earned first team All-Mountain West honors. In 13 games, Williams racked up 95 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and six pass breakups.

Oregon ended up dominating Arizona State on Saturday night, 49-13. Ducks wide receiver Troy Franklin shattered multiple records in the win.
The Ducks scored 42 points in the first half, cruising the rest of the way. Oregon quarterback Bo Nix was once again spectacular as he has been most of the year. He completed 24 of 29 passes for 404 yards, while tossing in six touchdowns and no interceptions.
There’s a reason Nix has been on the On3 Heisman Hot Board for much of the 2023 campaign.
Next up, Oregon will face their bitter rivals, the Oregon State Beavers in the Civil War. That game is set for Friday, November 24th. And it should be yet another Pac-12 classic. Oregon State dropped a close one to the Washington Huskies, 22-20, on Saturday night in Corvallis.
