Top-100 defensive lineman Nyjalik Kelly plans visit to Oregon
A week after tripping to Georgia, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard 2022 defensive lineman Nyjalik Kelly will visit Oregon next weekend.
Kelly, the No. 98 overall player in the 2022 On300 rankings, tweeted Wednesday that he’ll head to Eugene for the 10th-ranked Ducks’ showdown with Colorado on October 30. He also recently visited Florida and took official visits to Indiana, LSU and Oregon over the summer, as well as one to Florida State earlier this fall.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Kelly was committed to the Seminoles from August 2020 to April 2021, but ultimately backed off of that pledge and reopened his recruitment. Florida State has remained in the thick of things. But the Ducks, Bulldogs and Gators are still vying for his commitment. Georgia, though, recently flipped five-star defensive lineman Mykel Williams from USC, which could potentially change how hard Kirby Smart and Co. ultimately pursue Nyjalik Kelly.
Oregon has a talented 2022 class
One of head coach Mario Cristobal’s biggest priorities when he took over the job at Oregon in 2017 was significantly upgrading the talent on the Ducks’ roster. He’s done so in a big way. Each of his classes have ranked among the top 13 nationally, and his past three have each been in the top 11. The 2022 cycle is no different.

The Ducks have nine commits in the On300 rankings. At the top of that list is five-star Kelvin Banks Jr. — the No. 16 overall player in the industry-generated On3 Consensus rankings. He’s joined by San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln cornerbacks Jalil Carter (No. 53) and Jahlil Florence (No. 76), wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan (No. 65), and wide receiver Nicholas Anderson (No. 80) in the top-100 alone.
After landing 12 2021 On300 prospects, the Ducks are well on their way to matching or exceeding that total in 2022. Oregon’s class ranks No. 1 in the Pac-12 and No. 6 nationally.
