Just two days after backing off his pledge to Utah, four-star Portland (Ore.) Lake Oswego wide receiver Justius Lowe has a new home. On Tuesday night, Lowe announced that he is staying nearby and committing to Oregon and new head coach Dan Lanning.

Lowe is the No. 696 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 101 wide receiver.

On3’s own rankings are vastly higher on him, though. He is ranked as the No. 216 prospect and No. 30 wide receiver nationally.

Lowe is the 11th member of the Ducks’ 2022 recruiting class, joining four-star cornerback Jalil Tucker and four-star linebackers Devon Jackson and Harrison Taggart, among others.

Keeping him home is good news for an Oregon program in need of some recruiting momentum. The Ducks lost 11 commitments in the month following former head coach Mario Cristobal‘s departure for Miami. That included five-star offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr., four-star receiver Tetairoa McMillan and four-star quarterback Tanner Bailey, among others.

Lanning has been able to secure a trio of transfer commitments, but adding Justius Lowe is another significant win for the first-year head coach.
