Denton (Texas) Guyer five-star safety Peyton Bowen committed to Notre Dame on New Year’s Day. Multiple programs are still working hard for his commitment, however. One of them is Oregon, who got an unofficial visit from Bowen last weekend.

It seems that the 6-foot-0, 185 pound defensive back enjoyed his time in Eugene. During his game Thursday night against McKinney (Texas), Bowen was spotted wearing a Ducks headband.

“They’re really on me,” Bowen told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. “Since the new staff got there, they never stopped. They’re constantly texting me. (Co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Matt) Powledge came down last week and it means a lot. Since (defensive coordinator Tosh) Lupoi and (head) coach (Dan) Lanning got there, Oregon has been recruiting me since then.”

Bowen is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 2 safety in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Texas.

The 6-foot-0, 185 pound prospect is rated higher by On3 than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, he is the No. 15 overall prospect and No. 1 player in Texas.

Bowen is the highest-ranked prospect in Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class. The Fighting Irish’s group is No. 3 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.

Meanwhile, Oregon’s 2023 class is No. 11 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the Pac-12. The Ducks currently have commitments from two safeties, including Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman four-star Kodi Decambra.

Bowen has an On3 NIL Valuation of $258K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
