According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, former Ole Miss safety Jadon Canady has committed to Oregon. Canady has one year of eligibility remaining and will spend it in Eugene. A nice pickup for head coach Dan Lanning ahead of spring practice, adding another piece to the secondary.
This is the second time Canady has gone through the NCAA transfer portal process. His career began with the Tulane Green Wave, playing in 19 career games. Canady spent two seasons at Ole Miss with 14 appearances and 11 starts (all in 2024).
In 12 games this past year, Canday recorded 38 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, and 12 pass breakups. Those all occurred in the regular season, not playing in Ole Miss’ bowl game against Duke. Finding a new home took some time but Canday eventually landed with Oregon.
Canady played high school football at Jacksonville (FL) Sandalwood, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,289 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Looking at the transfer portal rankings, Canady is the No. 182 overall player to enter this cycle. Narrowing it down to just players at the safety position, he ranks at No. 10 as a three-star prospect.

Teams will never complain about landing somebody with starting experience, especially on a successful SEC team. Canady provides exactly that as Oregon makes another run in 2025.
Oregon DC Tosh Lupoi explains mindset of recruiting Na’eem Offord
There may have not been a bigger recruiting win during the 2025 cycle than Na’eem Offord. The Five-Star+ cornerback was a long-time Ohio State commit but wound up signing with the Oregon Ducks. Auburn was hot on the trail too, thinking they had momentum in the recruitment for some time.
Instead, Offord will now be coached by Tosh Lupoi. The Oregon defensive coordinator explained the mindset of winning Offord’s signature, having to beat out not just Ohio State but two massive in-state programs in Alabama and Auburn.
“This is a guy that you roll up your sleeves and you fly into Birmingham, Alabama and sometimes you might be thinking ‘we’re really gonna go beat out the University of Alabama and Auburn’ and we did,” Lupoi said. “So he’s a guy that was willing to travel to go get what he wants and just pumped about the future with him.”
