Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus wide receiver Ashton Cozart was a big recruiting win for Oklahoma when he picked the Sooners back in early February. OU’s new coaching staff fought off the likes of TCU, Texas, Washington and more to land the four-star wideout.

But programs haven’t given up on him — and one in particular: Oregon.

The Ducks have continued recruiting him since that commitment and got him on campus for an official visit this weekend. In the midst of that visit, things have started trending Oregon’s way in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Following expert flip predictions from ScoopDuck’s Justin Hopkins and On3 National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman, the Ducks have taken a significant lead over the Sooners.

The On3 RPM now gives Dan Lanning and Co. a 62.3 percent chance of flipping Cozart, the No. 142 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus.

Up until recently, Ashton Cozart was locked in with the Sooners and hadn’t taken other visits or entertained other schools. But with the Ducks, as well as Michigan and a few others staying in contact, he opted to hear them out.

“In my opinion, in this industry, it’s become a business. So you can’t just be too high on one person because anything can happen,” he recently told The Wolverine’s Marshall Levenson. “I’m still committed to Oklahoma. But I think it’s smart to keep an eye on other opportunities as well and keep those relationships up.”

Oregon wide receivers coach Junior Adams has done exactly that. And it looks like it could pay off for the Ducks sooner rather than later.
