Oregon cornerback Rodrick Pleasant has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. He played the past two seasons with the Ducks and has three years of eligibility remaining.

Pleasant appeared in seven games as a true freshman in 2023 to total 83 snaps (50 on defense, 33 on special teams). He finished the year with four tackles, a forced fumble and a pass breakup.

This past season he played four games before taking a redshirt. He played just 30 snaps on the season (23 on defense, seven on special teams). He also competed on Oregon’s track and field team.

Pleasant played high at Junipero Serra (CA), where he was a four-star prospect in the 2023 class. He ranked as the No. 98 overall player and No. 9 cornerback in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Pleasant is the 15th overall player and the second cornerback to enter the transfer portal for the Ducks this offseason, joining Khamari Terrell. Oregon has also added 10 players through the portal and ranks No. 4 in On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.

The Ducks are coming off of a season in which they earned the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff but lost in the quarterfinals against eventual champion Ohio State. As they look to get back there in 2025, they’ll be without a promising young player in their secondary.

The spring transfer portal opened Wednesday, April 16 and will close 10 days later on Friday, April 25. As of this writing, more than 430 FBS scholarship players have entered the transfer portal this month and 3,602 players have entered in the 2024-25 portal.

More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers. That means roughly 25% of all FBS scholarship players hit free agency in one year.

In data gathered over the first two years with transfer windows, the NCAA found most athletes enter the portal within the first four weeks of the portal opening. The study showed that 73% of men’s and women’s basketball undergraduate athletes entered during the first four weeks. That increased to 82% for men and 86% for women in 2024.
