Oregon Ducks mascot climbs outside fence at Spartan Stadium
The Oregon Ducks are rolling into their first season in the Big Ten this fall in college football. And their mascot, Puddles the duck, has decided to go on a tour of all the stadiums across the conference before the season begins. On Wednesday night, Puddles posted a picture trying to climb the fence at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan.
As a marketing tool, the Oregon mascot is one of the more creative and innovative ideas in college sports.
Head coach Dan Lanning is a big fan of Oregons innovation after all. That’s a big hat tip to the marketing team.
“I’ve said it a few times, but it’s kind of like the first day of school, you don’t want to just walk in with new shoes, right,” Lanning said. “We certainly want to come in and make a splash and I think our marketing team does an unbelievable job of making sure that Oregon’s recognized nationally. They’ve always done a good job from a branding standpoint.
”But, we have to go out there and win games that has very little to do with that but it creates excitement for our fans and certainly excitement for the Big Ten and Oregon joining that.”
The Oregon Duck is going to be a menace for all teams in the Big Ten isn’t he?
Expectations are high for the Oregon Ducks in the Big Ten. In the initial Big Ten media poll, Oregon was ranked second and alongside Ohio State was one of only two schools in the conference that received first-place votes.
