It’s been a few months since Oregon added to its 2024 recruiting class. That drought ended Friday afternoon as the Ducks landed a commitment from Forney (Texas) four-star safety Aaron Flowers.

Flowers’ pledge elevated the Ducks’ 2024 recruiting class to No. 10 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Oregon’s group, which also ranks No. 1 in the Pac-12, rose two spots from No. 12.

Flowers’ decision to commit to the Ducks came a few weeks after he was on campus. He visited Oregon on March 17 and followed that visit up with trips to USC (March 21) and Alabama (March 24).

“They’re really personal,” Flowers told On3 on April 4 regarding Oregon. “We talk about everything. It’s like family. We talk about everything, we talk in group chats and it’s fun to talk with them.”

Flowers is the No. 115 overall prospect and No. 10 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 20 player in Texas.

On3 rates the 6-foot-0, 185-pounder higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Flowers is the No. 70 overall prospect in the country, the No. 7 safety and the No. 15 player in Texas.

“They’ve been hard on me, especially Dan Lanning,” Flowers noted in his conversation with Sam Spiegelman. “The head coach is really on me, the whole staff really likes me and they’re texting me every day, calling me and FaceTiming me, and showing true love.”

“It’s awesome because he’s a defensive coach, so that’s what stands out the most,” he added, on Lanning. “He’s big on recruiting me and the defensive coaches are great. They’re trying to coach me, especially, and that really stands out.”

What Oregon’s class looks like following Flowers’ commitment

With Flowers’ commitment, four of the Ducks six commitments in their 2024 class are ranked as four-star prospects.

Oregon’s three other four-star commitments include Newport Harbor (Calif.) wide receiver Jordan Anderson, Philadelphia (Pa.) Roman Catholic wide receiver Tyseer Denmark and Vancouver (Wash.) Evergreen offensive tackle Fox Crader.

The Ducks also hold commitments from Yuma (Ariz.) Yuma Catholic three-star EDGE Jaxson Jones and Medford (Ore.) North Medford tight end A.J. Pugliano.

Prior to Flowers’ commitment on Friday, Jaxson was the last player to commit to Oregon announcing his decision on Jan. 29. Oregon’s four other commitments committed to the Ducks in 2022.
