Oregon HC Dan Lanning visits elite 2025 ATH Michael Terry
Oregon head coach Dan Lanning is keeping busy in January, making the rounds and visiting some of the Ducks’ top targets in the 2025 cycle.
San Antonio Alamo Heights four-star athlete Michael Terry is one of the latest prospects to get a visit from the skipper, as Lanning and Oregon OC Will Stein made their way to the Lone Star State on Tuesday.
Terry’s offer list is one that will continue to rise throughout the year. He was in Austin over the weekend and picked up an offer from Steve Sarkisian and Texas. The in-state Longhorns joined the likes of Oregon, Nebraska, Ole Miss and a slew of other Texas schools that are interested in the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder.
Lanning and the Ducks offered Terry almost exactly one year ago. Oregon running backs coach Carlos Locklyn visited Terry earlier this month, and now Lanning and Stein have done the same as the new Big Ten program ramps up its pursuit for the elite prospect.
Terry is the No. 51 overall prospect and top-ranked athlete in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 player in Texas.
He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $71K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Ducks pursuing another elite recruiting class
Oregon was one of the big winners on Early National Signing Day, as it rounded out a top-notch 2024 recruiting class that currently checks in at No. 3 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The Ducks are already near the top in the 2025 cycle, too.
With four commitments — three of whom are top-100 recruits — Oregon has the No. 4 class in the nation, as of Jan. 23. All four prospects are on the offensive side of the ball, headlined by Tampa Bay Tech four-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson, the No. 44 recruit and No. 6 WR in the nation. Wilson has been committed to the Ducks since Jan. 17, 2023.
“The reason I committed to Oregon so early in the process was because I felt like family in the few minutes we had to talk. And I felt like I can relate and be in a position where my family has never been,” Wilson told Scoop Duck following his commitment.
Flanking Wilson is someone of the same namesake and position — Pflugerville (Texas) Weiss four-star WR Adrian Wilson. The Lone Star prospect checks in at No. 69 overall and is also a top-10 player at his position. The pair of Wilsons are joined by San Diego Lincoln four-star quarterback Akili Smith Jr, the No. 8 signal-caller in the cycle.
