Oregon trending for coveted 2025 TE DaSaahn Brame
Dan Lanning has taken Oregon’s recruiting to new heights in his first two years in Eugene, as the Ducks sit comfortably inside the top three of the On3 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
UO doesn’t have a five-star recruit this cycle, but they do boast one of the nation’s deepest and most talented groups with 16 signees ranking among the top 300 players in the country. That momentum has carried over the 2025 class, where the Ducks are building another top-five group of prospects.
Lanning and Co. already have three commitments who rank top-150 nationally, and they could be closing in on another. After an expert prediction from On3’s Chad Simmons in Oregon’s favor, it’s the Ducks who are out in front for four-star tight end Dasaahn Brame.
“I am ready to name Oregon the favorite to land another playmaker on the offensive side of the ball in four-star tight end Dasaahn Brame,” Simmons wrote on Wednesday. “The four-star out of Derby (Kan.) will be back in Eugene on Feb. 3 for his third visit. He had a good visit with multiple Oregon coaches, including Lanning and Drew Mehringer and Will Stein.
… The Ducks are trending for the No. 113 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking. He has good relationships with the staff, he likes the fit in the offense and Oregon is setting the pace in this recruitment. Colorado, Michigan, USC and some others are high on his list too, but Lanning’s program is the one they are all chasing.

Ducks will have to hold off a host of other schools
In December, Brame named his top eight schools, a list that included Oregon, Tennessee, Alabama Oklahoma, Florida, Michigan, Texas A&M, and Kansas State.
“It is hard to focus on schools with 30 offers,” he added. “I was ready to narrow it down, focus on these and I plan to commit in mid-summer. It should happen during the dead period in July. I am now working to get to the finish line. I will keep going out, taking visits, talk to the players and find the best school for me.”
He has visited most all of them, but he raved about the Ducks and his relationship with tight ends coach Drew Mehringer.
“I love the staff at Oregon,” Brame told On3. “The people there is what keeps me going back. It is a cool place with good people. It is beautiful, I like the campus and the vibe is cool. I like Coach Mehringer a lot. I like his personality, he coaches his guys up and he is a developmental coach. Coach Mehringer will coach his guys, he will play freshmen and we have a strong relationship.”
