Oregon already has three commits and the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The Ducks could be adding another major piece to the puzzle soon, too.

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star offensive tackle Kodi Greene has been open and honest about where Oregon has stood in his recruitment for some time now. He recently named the new Big Ten program as “the team to beat” following his second trip to Eugene at the end of July.

On Thursday, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged a pick in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) in favor of Oregon landing the 6-foot-5.5 trench monster. Momentum continues to lie with the Ducks moving toward the end of the summer.

“Oregon is the team to beat,” Greene told On3’s Chad Simmons after his July visit. “They have made me feel like a priority from day one and have been in constant communication. I have built a genuine relationship with them and relationships are everything to me. Those things keep Oregon high on my list.”

Plenty of other high-profile programs have offered the Washington native, but none have managed to stand out the way that Oregon has thus far. His first visit in February was eye-catching and his return trip last month confirmed his feelings about the program.

“What always stands out to me is the energy at Oregon. It’s just a different vibe there,” Greene said. “You can tell the coaches love being there. Lanning always brings that energy too. I’m looking to make my commitment by the end of the season.”

Greene also told Simmons that he was getting close to narrowing things down to a select group of schools soon, but the arrows are pointing toward the Pacific Northwest heading into Greene’s junior campaign at Mater Dei.

He is the No. 36 overall prospect and No. 5 OT in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 5 player in California.

Oregon already has trio of junior blue-chippers pledged

Frankfort Heights (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East four-star quarterback Jonas Williams became 2026 commitment No. 3 for the Ducks on Aug. 3. The No. 9 QB in the cycle, Williams is a headline addition but also the lowest-ranked of the three commits in the class.

“Oregon has been my dream school for awhile,” Williams told On3. “A lot of people talk highly of Oregon and it definitely lived up to that standard. When I got there I really liked Coach Stein and how he teaches. That’s really important. I’m going to spend a lot of time with him the next four years of my life.”

Scottsdale (Ariz.) Willamette four-star defensive lineman Tony Cumberland committed back in September and is currently the nation’s No. 43 prospect and No. 3 DL in the cycle. Texarkana (Texas) Texas High four-star running back Tradarian Ball, the No. 47 recruit and No. 3 RB overall, pledged last month.

Off the back of a top-three class last cycle and currently owning a top-five class in the 2025 rankings, Lanning and his staff continue to run hot on the trail and remain tough to beat for top talent on the West Coast and beyond.
