Oregon hosting 5-star QBs during huge visit weekend
Oregon has a huge visit weekend on tap. Around 10 senior recruits are making their way to Eugene for their official visits. The Ducks are also hosting a large group of juniors, and the highest-ranked in the bunch has already arrived.
Five-star junior quarterback Nico Iamaleava of Warren (Calif.) Downey shared on social media that he has already arrived in Eugene ahead of his weekend unofficial visit.
Iamaleava is one of the most coveted junior recruits and quarterbacks in the country. He ranks as the No. 12 player overall, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The On3 Consensus also ranks him as the No. 3 overall quarterback and second-ranked player in the Golden State.
For Oregon, it’s important to get Iamaleava on campus. He’s a prized recruit at a priority position that has an offer list from all over the country – including from Georgia, UCLA, Tennessee, Alabama, USC and many others. This will be Dan Lanning’s first opportunity to make an impression on Iamaleava.
Oregon also hosting another star QB recruit
Iamaleava isn’t the only major national quarterback coming to campus this weekend. Martin Luther King (Mich.) quarterback Dante Moore will also visit this weekend. He’s expected on campus from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. He is the No. 4 ranked QB in the On3 consensus with an offer list that matches Iamaleava from a who’s who standpoint.
“This weekend the Ducks have the highest-ranked tandem of quarterbacks coming to town in program history,” Justin Hopkins with On3’s Scoop Duck said. “It’s not always ideal to have them on the campus at the same time. But there will be a minimal overlap of the two to help with that. Kenny Dillingam and Jordan Somerville will do their best to spend as much time with each this weekend. They will make them feel like a priority.”

Around 10 2022 recruits visiting Oregon
The underclass targets aren’t the only ones expected on campus this weekend. In fact, it’s a pretty massive visit weekend as Oregon hopes to close out the 2022 class strong.
Jahlil Florence is set to announce his decision on Monday between Oregon and USC. But it’s an extremely positive sign that he’s visiting this weekend, especially since he’ll be flanked by a close friend and teammate Jalil Tucker, who signed with the Ducks in December.
Three-star EDGE Emar’rion Winston and three-star ATH Arlis Boardingham are two other top uncommitted targets visiting Eugene this weekend.
Winston was previously committed to the Ducks. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine is trending heavily in Oregon’s favor heading into the weekend. Boardingham is trending toward Florida, according to the On3 RPM. But that could change after this weekend’s visit.
