More change is on the way for the college football landscape in 2024. Oregon has officially joined the Big Ten Conference, and the Ducks are already getting recruits on board with the move.

Bowie (Md.) St. Frances Academy four-star Oregon quarterback commit Michael Van Buren posted the Ducks’ new personalized Big Ten-oriented graphic to his Twitter account on Sunday.

Van Buren committed to Oregon back in May as the second quarterback to pledge to the Ducks in this class.

Oregon joined the University of Washington in accepting invites to the Big Ten Conference last week. Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State and Utah are all joining the Big 12 Conference in 2024.

“We are excited to welcome the University of Oregon and the University of Washington to the Big Ten Conference,” Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti said in the release. “We look forward to building long-lasting relationships with the universities, administrators and staff, student-athletes, coaches and fans,” Petitti said. “Both institutions feature a combination of academic and athletic excellence that will prove a great fit for our future.”

The saga all came to a head on Friday after days of speculation surrounding PAC-12 schools and negotiations over a new PAC-12 Grant of Rights. The move to the Big Ten was then made official on Friday.

Oregon joined the PAC-12’s predecessor, the Pacific Coast Conference, in 1915 — the same year as Washington. As it stands, just California, Stanford, Washington State and Oregon State remain as conference members beginning in 2024.

Oregon maintains No. 15 class

Oregon currently holds the nation’s No. 15 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Twenty recruits have committed to the Ducks, including 12 blue-chip prospects. Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy four-star cornerback Ify Obidegwu headlines the class. The latest to pledge to Oregon was Los Angeles (Calif.) Los Alamitos four-star linebacker Kamar Mothudi on July 11.

Forney (Texas) four-star safety Aaron Flowers and Newport Beach (Calif.) Harbor four-star wide receiver Jordan Anderson round out the Ducks’ top-150 commits.
