Oregon lands a 2022 QB in PWO Marcus Sanders
Oregon does not have any scholarship quarterbacks committed for the 2022 cycle. But as of Sunday, they now have at least one signal-caller from the class coming to Eugene, Ore.
Union City (Calif.) James Logan quarterback Marcus Sanders announced his commitment Sunday to the Ducks as a preferred walk-on.
Sanders is the second pick-up in the 2022 class this weekend after Seattle Rainier Beach four-star offensive lineman Josh Conerly.
Conerly was the last elite 2022 recruit to be uncommitted, and announced his decision Friday.
“It was definitely the hardest choice I’ve had to make in my life,” Conerly told On3. “I mean choosing Eugene over LA is a tough choice but I feel like I’m making the best decision for myself.”
Conerly is the No. 40 overall prospect in the senior class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Conerly picked Oregon over USC, which was believed to be the favorite heading into the final day. Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma and Washington were also contenders for Conerly.
“Josh is talented enough to play anywhere across the offensive line on the next level,” Rainier Beach head coach Corey Sampson told On3. “With his size, ability to move, and versatility, Josh could play at a high level at tackle, guard, or center. He is that kind of player.”
The Ducks jumped to No. 13 overall in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings following the commitment. Conerly is the highest-rated recruit in the class for Oregon.
