Oregon offensive tackle Michael Wooten plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal after two seasons with the team.

Wooten appeared in one game as a true freshman. He ended up redshirted during the 2022 season.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Wooten was a three-star recruit out of Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 32 overall prospect in the state, the No. 26 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 488 overall prospect in the class.

He released a statement on social media announcing his intentions.

“These past two years have been such a blessing and learning experience for me at the University of Oregon,” Wooten said in a statement. “I would like to thank the Athletic Administration for providing me an opportunity to grow as a student-athlete. I am grateful for all of the coaches and trainers who helped me on and off the field.

“I would also like to thank the Oregon fan base for supporting me and my teammates for uplifting me. To all the people with whom I’ve made connections that will last a lifetime, thank you. With that being said, with three years of eligibility remaining, I have made the decision to enter the transfer portal.”
