Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel shatters NCAA career passing touchdown record vs. Maryland
Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel has shattered numerous records throughout his prolific college football career. And on Saturday night against Maryland, he tacked on one more page to his unbelievable resume. Gabriel fired the 178th touchdown of his career in the first half, putting the Ducks up 21-10 in the first half. That tied him with former Houston great Case Keenum atop the list.
Then in the second half, Gabriel made sure that he’d stand atop the record books forever, completing the 179th touchdown toss of his career. After the two-point conversion, the Ducks were up 29-10.
Who did he complete the record-setting toss to? Gernorris Wilson, an offensive lineman for the Ducks.
The Ducks currently sit at 10-0 overall in the 2024 campaign. They finished off the Terrapins with a 39-18 win, but they’ve clearly got some flaws and things they’ll have to clean up as the season winds down and the race for the 2024 College Football Playoffs heats up.
Gabriel has bounced around during his college football career, starting out with the UCF Knights (2019-2021), before moving on to the Oklahoma Sooners (2022-2023). And now, he’s wrapping up his career with the Oregon Ducks (2024).

He finished Saturday night completing 23 of his 34 passing attempts for 183 yards, while tossing in three touchdowns with no interceptions.
He’s currently second all-time in NCAA career passing yards (17,530), just behind Case Keenum (19,217 passing yards). While there’s no chance he’ll top Keenum in passing yardage, Gabriel has still made his mark as one of the most prolific quarterbacks the game has seen.
Up next, Oregon will face off against the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday, Nov. 16th. And then they’ll face off against the Washington Huskies on Saturday, Nov. 30th. Between those games, the Ducks will get a bye week to rest up.
