Former Oregon wide receiver Ryan Pellum has been arrested, according to a report from KEZI. Pellum was arrested after being accused of pistol-whipping a person on Christmas Day, the TV station reports.

Ryan Pellum was arrested in Springfield, Oregon on a warrant from his hometown of Long Beach, California, per KEZI. The alleged incident occurred in California.

Ryan Pellum allegedly caused an injury to the victim’s head, which required stitches. A nationwide extraditable warrant was issued for his arrest. He has reportedly been released on bail.

Pellum entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Monday with a do-not-contact tag. He played very sparingly for the Ducks during the 2024 season, appearing in four games and returning one punt, while making one tackle on special teams.

Prior to enrolling at Oregon, Ryan Pellum was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 171 overall recruit in the 2024 recruiting class. He also checked in as the No. 28 receiver in the class and the No. 12 overall player from the state of California, hailing from Long Beach (CA) Millikan.

A Polynesian Bowl invitee, Pellum caught 66 passes for 991 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior in 2023. His productivity got him on the radar of plenty of top-tier programs, including Oregon.

And he was productive for multiple years in high school.

As a junior in high school, Ryan Pellum caught 52 passes for 1,028 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 27 tackles and a kick return touchdown.

He’ll offer whatever program takes him out of the transfer portal some versatility as a return man.

It was a great season for the Oregon Ducks, despite the way it ended. Oregon went through the regular season undefeated, then beat Penn State in the Big Ten Championship Game.

The Ducks were 13-0 heading into the College Football Playoff, before running into a buzzsaw in Ohio State. The Buckeyes beat Oregon 41-21 to advance to the semifinals of the CFP.

Now Oregon is back to work, hoping to get back to the College Football Playoff in 2025. The Ducks have an excellent roster for next year, despite losing Ryan Pellum to the transfer portal.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Pellum after his arrest and whether or not he ends up at another school.
