Oregon receiver Traeshon Holden was fuming after being ejected in Saturday’s game against Ohio State for spitting in the face of a Buckeyes player. Cameras captured him letting his anger out as he was escorted to the locker room.

Holden was seen taking his helmet off before furiously throwing it while he walked down the tunnel. At some point he stopped and sat down on the ground against the wall with his head in his hands as a member of the Oregon staff consoled him. You can view the outburst below.

The spitting incident occurred early in the second quarter as Holden got tangled up with Ohio State defensive back Davison Igbinosun away from a play. That caused the retaliation from Holden as he took things way past the line and turned around to spit in the defender’s face.

As a result, he will be forced to miss the remainder of the contest, which is a massive blow for the Ducks. Traeshon Holden was the team’s second-leading receiver with 19 catches for 274 yards and three touchdowns entering the game.

Evan Stewart has been leading the way so far for the Ducks receivers with five catches for 124 yards and a touchdown. However, Oregon will need to get Tez Johnson more involved with Holden now out. The leading receiver on the season has only one catch for a loss of two yards.

Justice Lowe entered the game in place of Holden and so far has one catch for nine yards. Oregon currently trails Ohio State by a score of 28-22 with 7:16 remaining in the third quarter.

This is a game that could be a preview of the Big Ten title game, and it’s a shame that Holden won’t be able to help his teammates due to his actions. The Ducks will do their best to come back and win without him as they aim to take the lead in the Big Ten race.
