Report: Kansas State transfer safety Kobe Savage expected to commit to Oregon
Kansas State transfer safety Kobe Savage is expected to commit to the Oregon Ducks, Matt Zenitz reported on Sunday afternoon. He was an All-Big 12 selection for the past two seasons. Savage racked up 115 total tackles and six interceptions the past two seasons, too.
In 2022, Savage started the first 10 games at strong safety for the Wildcats, before an injury cut his season short. He ranked fourth on the team with 58 tackles. Not only did he win Big 12 Defensive Newcome of the Year honors, but he also brought home second team All-Big 12 honors.
Before joining Kansas State, he was one of the best JUCO prospects in the country at Tyler Junior College. Savage racked up 100 tackles, two tackles for loss, six interceptions, and four pass breakups during his career there.
He played his high school football for Paris (Paris, Texas). He was a dynamic player on both sides of the ball there. On defense, he racked up 107 tackles, eight pass breakups, two interceptions, and four tackles for loss. On offense, he tallied over 2,400 all-purpose yards and 28 touchdowns.
