Simmons Scoop: Oregon trending for 5-star QB Dante Moore
One of the most talked-about names in the 2023 recruiting cycle is five-star Detroit (Mich.) King quarterback Dante Moore.
The No. 8 player in the On3 Consensus rankings is the lone five-star passer left uncommitted, and his recruitment has really taken off.
According to On3’s Chad Simmons, Oregon is the team trending right now for Moore.
“Oregon is in a great spot; there’s no doubt they are trending with him right now,” Simmons said. “They’re the hot team. Things have shifted from Notre Dame to LSU, Michigan has always been there, and Texas A&M is in there as well. But right now Oregon is the hot team trending right now for Dante.
“It goes from Dan Lanning to Kenny Dillingham to the culture at Oregon. A lot going in the favor of the Ducks.

Texas A&M and Michigan still hanging around with Dante Moore
Moore hasn’t set a commitment date or given much away about his recruitment recently. He took a multi-day unofficial visit to Texas A&M earlier this month, and the Aggies are giving him something to think about. Michigan, meanwhile, was his first offer as a recruit and is the local school he has been in contact with the longest.
“There’s talk that he may go back to Texas A&M,” Simmons added. “Nothing planned at the moment, but there’s talk about getting him back to College Station as early as late July when things open back up.”
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the Ducks lead with a 67.6 percent chance to land Dante Moore.
