Top-150 cornerback Curley Reed offered by Oregon
Lake Charles College Prep (La.) defensive back Curley Reed has been offered by Oregon, he announced Thursday morning on Twitter.
Reed is the No. 135 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 13 cornerback and the No. 9 junior in the state of Louisiana.
The Ducks join a lengthy list of schools pursuing Reed, including LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, USC and Miami. The in-state Tigers are considered the favorites to land Reed by the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). But as of now, his recruiting process is still very much open.
USC and Florida State have both ramped up their recruitment of him in recent months, Reed told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. Lincoln Riley recruited Reed while at Oklahoma and defensive backs coach Donte Williams, who was the Trojans’ interim coach, remains in pursuit.

“The crazy thing is Coach Donte,” Reed said. “He came in and offered. He texted me out of the blue and I didn’t even know who it was, but he built that relationship. He’s got a relationship with me and I’ve got a strong relationship with him.”
His most recent trip was a visit to Tallahassee, and Curley Reed is continuing to build a relationship with assistant coach Rod Woodson.
