Oregon wide receiver Troy Franklin left Friday’s Pac-12 Championship with an apparent shoulder injury. He went to catch a pass from Bo Nix in the second quarter, but took a big hit and stayed on the Allegiant Stadium turf.

Franklin has had a monster year for Oregon this year, hauling in 77 receptions for 1,349 yards and 14 touchdowns as Nix’s top target. Prior to his injury, he had one reception for 11 yards.

Oregon ended up kicking a field goal after Franklin’s injury, and that cut into the Washington lead. He ended up returning to the game.

The Huskies got out to a 10-0 lead to start the game before Camden Lewis made it a 10-3 ballgame. Washington then responded with another touchdown to go up 17-3 on Oregon in the highly anticipated rematch.

The two teams last squared off in October at Husky Stadium — a game UW won 36-33 in a thriller. Friday’s rematch had plenty at stake, though, with both teams in the top six of the College Football Playoff rankings.

Last time the Ducks and Huskies squared off, Dan Lanning was aggressive, particularly on fourth down. That was a point of criticism after Washington pulled off the victory in the final seconds, but Pac-12 Network’s Yogi Roth said he wanted Lanning to stay aggressive in the conference championship with so much at stake.

“What I really appreciated about Dan Lanning, I imagine you’d agree because you’ve gotten to know him too, is he’s always said from day one is that he’s got to have a growth mindset,” Roth told Andy Staples on Andy Staples On3. “I referenced their DNA traits. There were multiple times last year, this year, he’s like I’m learning as a head coach until I’ve been doing this as long as Nick Saban or Kirby Smart, and I love that about the humility that he continues to showcase because I think it’s really reflective on his team.”

That said, he expected Washington coach Kalen DeBoer to be aggressive, as well.

“My favorite part of getting to know coaches’ personalities is that you can kind of predict when games are tight — what are they going to go be? Who are they going to go be? What are they going to do? Dan Lanning is going to be aggressive. Kalen DeBoer is going to be aggressive,” Roth continued. “This is not going to be a playfield, position type of game by any stretch I imagined from the jump. It will not be reckless, but it is going to be aggressive on both sides.”
