Former USC and Georgia defensive lineman Bear Alexander is committing to transfer to the Oregon Ducks, On3’s Hayes Fawcett has learned. Alexander was a former Top 100 prospect.

He began his career at Georgia in 2022 as a true freshman before transferring to USC for the 2023 season. After four games with the Trojans in 2024, Alexander left the team and planned to enter the transfer portal.

Oregon, Penn State, and SMU were the programs that were the most intriguing options to Alexander in his latest recruitment in the portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Evidently, the Ducks won out when it came to the sweepstakes for the defender’s talent.

Alexander spent the past two seasons with USC after starting his career with Georgia. He has appeared in 28 games with the Bulldogs and Trojans, including double-digit starts on the defensive line while in LA. However, he ended this last season early in appearing in just three first three before departing from ‘SC.

In those outings, Alexander has posted 61 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and four deflections with most of that coming during his sophomore season.

Per the current ratings in On3’s 2025 Top Transfer Portal Players, Alexander is the No. 1 DL and the No. 29 overall transfer.

That’s all after Alexander, a native of Denton, Texas, was a former four-star recruit out of IMG Academy in the 2022 cycle. That’s per the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He rated as the No. 43 overall player and the No. 7 DL.

When on the field with a program, Alexander has been impactful with a lot of pedigree there. Oregon has to be elated to land one of the best players available in the portal.
