Carthage (Tex.) three-star wide receiver Montrel Hatten committed to Oregon State on Thursday night. The 6-foot-0, 179 pound wideout is the No. 500 overall prospect and No. 74 wide receiver in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 85 player from Texas.

The Beavers’ class currently ranks No. 52 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. Hatten is the second highest-ranked commit in Oregon State’s class behind Las Vegas (Nev.) Spring Valley four-star defensive lineman Kelze Howard, the No. 262 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

14 recruits currently make up the Beavers’ 2023 group and a good amount of them have committed this month. They include Hatten, Howard, Reddicks, Federal Way (Wash.) three-star cornerback Andre Piper-Jordan Jr., Clearwater (Fla.) Sweden three-star defensive lineman Thomas Collins and Manvel (Texas) cornerback Jalen O’Neal.

The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
