The Oregon State Beavers ended off the 2021 season making updates to their stadium, and on Monday the football program announced an update to their staff. John Canzano of the Oregonian reports that Oregon State will hire Cole Moore as Director of Player Personnel for head coach Jonathan Smith.

Moore spent last season in Austin, Tx, with the Texas Longhorns as their Assistant Director of Player Personnel. He comes in to replace former Director of Player Personnel Darrick Yray, who cut across the country to join the Florida State Seminoles as their new general manager.

Moore has plenty of experience inside of the front offices at the college level. While finishing off his master’s at the University of Washington, he was a Football recruiting assistant. Afterward, Moore spent four years at Montana State as Director of Football Operations and Player Personnel and Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations.

Oregon Ducks swipe receiver from Pac-12 rival

The Oregon Ducks’ new head man, Dan Lanning, has added another major piece for Oregon by way of the transfer portal. And the best part for the Ducks is their new addition is a subtraction for one of their biggest Pac-12 rivals.

Former UCLA wide receiver Chase Cota announced Friday afternoon that he has committed to continue his career at Oregon.

Cota, a former 4-star recruit who starred at South Medford in Southern Oregon, played four seasons for UCLA. In 2021, he caught 18 passes for 286 yards and a touchdown. Throughout his four years as a Bruin, he tallied 883 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

He was ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 159 overall prospect in the class of 2018 and the No. 29 overall receiver.

Cota will provide a much-needed veteran presence to an Oregon receiver room that graduated seniors Johnny Johnson III and Jaylon Redd and lost its leading pass-catcher, Devon Williams, to the NFL Draft.
