Oregon State offers 2024 top-75 OT Brandon Baker

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star offensive tackle Brandon Baker received an offer from Oregon State on Sunday. He announced the news over social media.

Baker is the No. 66 overall prospect and No. 4 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 6 player in California.

The 6-foot-4.5, 285-pound prospect has received 23 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Oregon has a commanding lead for his commitment at 88.6%. 

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

The Beavers do not have any commitments in their 2024 recruiting class. Meanwhile, Oregon State’s 2023 class is No. 56 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 9 in the Pac-12.

15 players are currently committed to the Beavers and head coach Jonathan Smith. Las Vegas (Nev.) Spring Valley four-star Kelze Howard, the No. 284 overall prospect in the 2023 On3 Consensus, leads the group.

Baker has an On3 NIL Valuation of $72K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
