4-star Alabama commit Elliot Washington sets Penn State visit

Venice (Fla.) cornerback Elliot Washington has been committed to Alabama since January, but other schools have kept their foot on the gas.
Both Michigan State and Maryland hosted him for unofficial visits in April. And Tuesday night, Washington announced he will head to Penn State this weekend for an official visit with the Nittany Lions.
Washington is the No. 103 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the No. 10 cornerback and No. 21 player in the state of Florida this cycle.
On3 is slightly higher on him than the other major recruiting services, as shown in the Industry Comparison. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 66 prospect, No. 7 cornerback and No. 16 senior in the Sunshine State.

In February, On3 Senior National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton wrote about Elliot Washington’s major jump in the rankings.
“The Alabama commitment makes the move from No. 136 to No. 66 after very impressive junior video, and a subsequent Under Armour Camp Miami performance. Washington posted in a 4.42 40 at 195 pounds at the camp, and he looked powerful and explosive in drills. Washington’s versatility sets him apart from many other defensive backs in the cycle. He has the ability to play anywhere in the secondary due to a blend of size, speed and ball skills. He displayed patience and sound eyes at the Miami camp.”
