Allen Robinson celebrates Penn State victory from the sidelines
Chicago Bears receiver Allen Robinson took to Twitter following Penn State’s 16-10 victory over Wisconsin on Saturday. The former Nittany Lion was on the sidelines in Madison, Wisconsin, to take in his team’s road victory.
“Had fun watching Penn State football yesterday,” Robinson said. “Appreciate y’all for having me!”
It took a while for the offense to get things going, with the game still scoreless at halftime. Penn State started the third quarter strong when quarterback Sean Clifford connected with Jahan Dotson for a 49-yard touchdown that likely impressed the NFL receiver.
Wisconsin quickly answered with a 10-play, 75-yard touchdown drive to even the score at seven. The Badgers then took a 10-7 lead after a 43-yard field goal to start the fourth quarter.
The Nittany Lions took little time to respond with a field goal of their own on the next drive. Noah Cain capped off the following drive with a 2-yard touchdown to put Penn State up for good.
As the score might suggest, the defense won this game.
Penn State forced three Wisconsin turnovers, including two interceptions. They held quarterback Graham Mertz without a touchdown. Both interceptions came during the fourth quarter and with Wisconsin in Nittany Lion territory.

Allen Robinson played for Penn State from 2011-2013. He was on the Nittany Lion roster during coach Joe Paterno’s final season. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected him in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft.
Robinson spent four seasons in Jacksonville before joining the Chicago Bears in 2018. A Pro Bowl election in 2015, he teams up with rookie quarterback Justin Field out of Ohio State this season; although for now, Andy Dalton remains the team’s starter. The pair will aim to get Chicago back to the playoffs after a wild card loss to New Orleans in 2020.
Penn State next faces Ball State at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday in State College, Pennsylvania. Can they continue to make Allen Robinson and other alumni proud?
