Cincinnati’s Josh Reed has committed to transfer to Penn State, On3 has learned. That comes per On3’s Joe Tipton.

Reed has spent the past three seasons in making 97 appearances, with single-digit starts, with the Bearcats. He averaged 2.8 points (38.7% FG, 32.8% 3PT) and 2.1 rebounds per game in those outings in Cincy.

Reed, an Atlanta native, played high school basketball at Pace Academy. He was the No. 149 overall recruit as a three-star in the 2022 cycle. He also rated as a Top-40 SF and the No. 5 player out of the state of Georgia. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Per the latest update to On3’s Industry Ranking of 2025’s Top Transfer Portal Players, Reed is No. 447 overall as the No. 125 SG. That’s with him being one of nine players to enter during this portal cycle from Cincinnati. The Bears have also lost Dillon Mitchell, Dan Skillings Jr., Connor Hickman, Arrinten Page, Tyler Betsey, Rayvon Griffith, C.J. Anthony, and JJ Rembert so far this offseason. None have since committed elsewhere to new programs, though.
