Even though Penn State took care of business on Saturday, they suffered a major injury scare when quarterback Drew Allar had to leave the game. Following the game, head coach James Franklin said he doesn’t have enough medical information yet, but that Allar wasn’t mobile enough to return.

Franklin said he felt bad for telling NBC at halftime that Allar would return, but learned after warmups he was a no-go.

The quarterback came out of halftime wearing a brace on his left knee and attempted to warm up and stay in the game. However, he was ultimately unable and backup Beau Pribula led the offense out to begin the third quarter.

“He came out with a knee brace looking like he was gonna give it a go and then you just saw, shook his head no,” NBC analyst Noah Eagle said. “Frustrated and everybody just trying to make sure they’re on the same page. It does not look like Allar’s gonna continue in this game.”
