Drew Allar injury update: Penn State QB's status revealed for second half vs. Wisconsin
Penn State quarterback Drew Allar will not start the second half against Wisconsin after suffering an apparent knee injury. Allar left early to the locker room as the Nittany Lions trailed 10-7 at halftime after he came down awkwardly on the final drive of the half.
The quarterback came out of halftime wearing a brace on his left knee and attempted to warm up and stay in the game. However, he was ultimately unable and backup Beau Pribula led the offense out to begin the third quarter.
“He came out with a knee brace looking like he was gonna give it a go and then you just saw, shook his head no,” NBC analyst Noah Eagle said. “Frustrated and everybody just trying to make sure they’re on the same page. It does not look like Allar’s gonna continue in this game.”
Allar was a solid 14-of-18 passing for 148 yards and a touchdown in the first half. He connected with running back Nick Singleton, who made a one-handed grab for the Nittany Lions’ only score of the game thus far.

On the season, Allar had 1,492 yards and 11 touchdowns to four interceptions entering Saturday night’s contest. Pribula has made appearances in five games so far this season to go 7-of-10 passing for 102 yards and two touchdowns to one interception. He also has rushed for another 105 yards and a score.
Now the Nittany Lions will look to put their trust in the redshirt sophomore to lead them back in what is still a very close game to begin the second half. Penn State is a perfect 6-0 on the year and needs to continue to pile up the wins to keep itself in the running for its first Big Ten title since 2016.
