Florida DB transfer Jalen Kimber flips commitment from Louisville to Penn State
Former Florida defensive back Jalen Kimber has flipped his commitment from Louisville to Penn State. Kimber committed to the Cardinals on Dec. 30, via the NCAA Transfer Portal. However, he now plans on taking his talents to the Nittany Lions.
Kimber played in all 12 games and made 11 starts for the Gators this past season. He finished the year with 23 tackles and was second on the team with five pass breakups.
Jalen Kimber is transferring for the second time as he started his career at Georgia, signing with the Bulldogs in the class of 2020. He was ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 116 overall player in the country in that class, according to the On3 Industry rankings.
As a true freshman in 2020, Kimber appeared in three games. He saw action in one game in 2021 and made one tackle, before being lost for the year with an injury.
From there, Kimber transferred to Florida. He played in all 13 games in 2022, before moving into a starting role in 2023. Kimber announced last week that he was entering the transfer portal again.
