4-star athlete Malachi Coleman offered by Penn State
Lincoln (Neb.) Lincoln East four-star athlete Malachi Coleman, the No. 1 recruit from the state of Nebraska, has been offered by Penn State.
Coleman is the No. 173 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Coleman was named one of the top prospects at the Atlanta Pylon 7-on-7 tournament last month by On3’s Jeremy Johnson.
“Lincoln (Neb.) Lincoln East athlete Malachi Coleman stood up to his current position designation. Coleman’s got off the bus and turned heads,” Johnson said. “At 6-foot-5, 210-pound Coleman played in the center of the defense and then split out and played wide receiver. He made multiple catches in traffic.”
Numerous schools pursuing Malachi Coleman
The Nittany Lions join a long list of schools in pursuit of Coleman, including Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Georgia, Louisville, and Texas Tech. Several top programs like Oregon, Michigan, Baylor and Wisconsin are also keeping tabs.
As a junior, the versatile prospect hauled in 17 receptions for 561 yards and 10 touchdowns through 10 games. Defensively, he finished his junior season with 57 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, five passes defended and four forced fumbles.

Coleman picked up a recent offer from Georgia, and despite the national champions taking a major interest, he isn’t in any rush to make a decision.
“I’m definitely taking my time,” he told DawgsHQ. “Academic support and my major matters. I want to major in human and sports psychology,” he said. “I also want to know that the staff is going to have the best interests in mind for me, because I don’t know what I want to play, so I’m trusting them to put me in the best position.”
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Nebraska is the overwhelming favorite to land Coleman. It gives the Cornhuskers as a 97.7 percent chance to land him.
