Four-Star OT Chimdy Onoh commits to Penn State
Four-star offensive tackle Chimdy Onoh of Dundalk (MD) High announced his commitment to Penn State Wednesday afternoon.
The 6-foot-6, 270 pounder chose the Nittany Lions over Michigan State, Ole Miss, and Rutgers.
Onoh on why he chose Penn State
“What stood out is that Penn State really felt like home when I was there. After spending time with the coaches and the team, I knew that I would fit in and become the best I can be.”
Relationship with coaching staff stood out
“I’d say that I’m the closest with Coach Trautwein. We’ve been talking a lot during my recruitment and he’s visited me multiple times. He would also talk a lot about things we would be doing as an OL group to have fun and stuff like that.”

What Penn State is getting in Chimdy Onoh
“Personally I know that I strive to be the best at whatever I do, so Penn State will be getting a hard working athlete that has the potential to do great things in their program.”
Chimdy Onoh Scouting Summary
“Twitched up offensive tackle prospect who imposes his will on defenders for all four quarters. Shows excellent foot speed and balance. Terrific burst off the line of scrimmage for his stature. Measures in at nearly 6-foot-5, 270 pounds with 9.5-inch hands. Incredible raw power at the point of attack and possesses violent hands. Won the Maryland 4A state championship in shot put and discus throwing 61-foot-4 in the shot put and 175-foot-6 in the discus. Appears to lack ideal arm length for the next level but makes up for it with his hand placement and ability to stay engaged. High ceiling prospect who has the chance to develop into a premier tackle if he is able to maintain his athleticism as he adds mass throughout his frame. Impressive basketball player for his high school team who can get up and throw it down with ease.”
Onoh ranks as the No. 207 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 14 offensive tackle and the No. 4 player in the state of Maryland.
