James Franklin has clear response to Jim Harbaugh's recent comments, shot at him
The Penn State Nittany Lions and the Michigan Wolverines have just ushered in a new chapter into their Big Ten rivalry courtesy of their football head coaches. Penn State head coach James Franklin and Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh recently began a back-and-forth following the incident that happened in the tunnel when their respective programs played earlier in the season.
After Harbaugh fired back at Franklins’ initial comments earlier in the week, the Nittany Lions head man was asked for his thoughts on the reply. Franklin gave a clear and straightforward response to the shot from his coaching peer.
“No. I don’t. Nope I don’t. Ohio State,” said Franklin. “Just so you know, I was saying no I don’t have a comment.”
It appears as if the Penn State head coach will not allow Harbaugh’s comments to bother and affect him and his team going forward. Penn State has an even bigger fish to fry. as Franklin briefly alluded to, up next on their plate is the team ranked above Michigan in the Ohio State Buckeyes. And if the Nittany Lions want to keep their hopes alive for a possible berth in the Big Ten title game appearance, then all their attention must be focused on upsetting the No. 2 team in the country on Saturday.

“I prefer to talk about these things in the offseason, but the one tunnel is a problem. It’s a problem and has been,” said Franklin. “And to me, we need to put a policy in place from a conference perspective. In my mind that’s gonna stop it. We’re not the first team to kind of get into a jawing match in the tunnel. For me, I want to focus on getting my team in the locker room, not jawing back and forth.”
On Monday, Harbaugh addressed those comments from Franklin, and didn’t hold back what he really thought on the suggestion from the Penn State headman. Especially considering he thinks Franklin was right in the center of the incident altogether.
“Really got bigger fish to fry than Franklin’s opinion on the halftime tunnel from a game ago,” Harbaugh said. “All you got to do is walk into their locker room. Like you saw pretty clearly that they completely stopped. They weren’t letting us get up the tunnel. And it just seemed like such a sophomoric ploy to try to keep us out of our locker rooms.
“And he looked like he was the ringleader of the whole thing. I got bigger fish to fry than worry about that kind of whining.”
