James Franklin gets into heated exchange with fan after Penn State loss to Ohio State
No. 3 Penn State fell to rival No. 4 Ohio State on Saturday 20-13 in front of the largest crowd in Beaver Stadium history. But not every fan was thrilled with what they saw.
Following the loss, one fan got into a heated exchange with coach James Franklin as he headed off the field.
Franklin heard the fan shouting something, then headed his direction. He stopped and paused there, seemingly exchanging words before the fan waved his arm at Franklin and headed up the stairs in the stands. Franklin then turned and rang a bell at the stadium before heading into the tunnel.

But the Buckeyes slowly worked their way back into the contest.
Despite the pick-six and a very costly fumble into the end zone for a touchback, Ohio State quarterback Will Howard helped pace the team and made some clutch conversions when he needed to. He helped ice the game late when he picked up multiple first downs with his legs.
Coach Ryan Day credited his group for coming up with key plays when they needed to.
“We’re crushed with fumble on the 1-yard line, all these different things that came up,” Day said on the postgame broadcast. “But we kept fighting, we kept swinging. [Donovan Jackson] steps in like that, never playing left tackle against a really good player in [Abdul] Carter. I thought Will was tough. He just kept fighting and battling. Man, I’m just happy for our guys.”
With the win, Ohio State improved to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in Big Ten play, while Penn State fell to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in Big Ten action.
